If the weather’s against you, Thermae Bath Spa turns a washout into one of the best things you’ll do all trip — it’s the only place in Britain where you can bathe in naturally warm mineral water, and the rooftop pool with rain coming down around you is genuinely memorable. Book ahead online, especially for weekend sessions.
For food, skip the obvious tourist cafés near the Baths and head to Sally Lunn’s instead — it occupies the oldest house in the city and still bakes the original Bath bun to a closely guarded recipe.
