Short Stay or Long Stay? Choosing the Right Booking for Your Trip

Highfield 1

It’s a question worth actually thinking through rather than defaulting to whatever length of trip you first had in mind, because the right answer depends more on purpose than on preference.

A short stay — a few nights to a week — makes sense for leisure trips, weekend breaks, and anyone testing out a destination for the first time. It’s straightforward, flexible, and doesn’t require much commitment either way.

A longer stay changes the maths, though, and not always in the direction people expect. Weekly and monthly rates bring meaningful discounts across our portfolio, so a contractor placement or corporate relocation booked as a monthly stay often works out significantly cheaper per night than the same period booked as a series of short stays. If you know a project or placement is likely to run more than a couple of weeks, it’s worth asking about our long-stay rate before defaulting to a short booking and extending later.

There’s a comfort argument too. Longer stays are where our fully equipped kitchens, laundry facilities, and workspace setups genuinely earn their keep — the value of “everything you need to actually live, not just sleep” compounds the longer you’re there. A week-long stay barely touches that value; a month-long one depends on it.

For families, a longer single stay in one property usually beats splitting a trip across multiple shorter bookings in different places — less packing and unpacking, less disruption, more time actually enjoying wherever you’ve chosen to base yourselves.
