When Bristol weather turns, We The Curious is the one that consistently gets recommended back to us by families staying in our Bristol properties. It’s a genuinely excellent hands-on science centre — over 300 interactive exhibits covering everything from space to sound to the human body, built to be touched, pulled, and experimented with rather than just looked at.
The standout feature is the UK’s only 3D planetarium, which is worth booking a show for in advance since slots do sell out on busy days. It’s aimed squarely at families with kids, but adults tend to get just as absorbed once they’re through the door.
It sits right on the harbourside, so if the rain does clear up, you’re perfectly placed for a walk along the water afterwards, or lunch at one of the nearby cafés. Give yourself a good three to four hours to make it worth the ticket price — it’s not a quick in-and-out. It’s an easy one to plan a whole wet day around, and one of the better indoor options in the city for genuinely keeping kids engaged rather than just occupied.
