A long contractor stay is a different experience to a weekend break, and it’s worth planning for that difference rather than just packing like it’s a short trip.
Start with the basics that make a longer stay sustainable. Bring more than you think you need in terms of work clothes and site gear — laundry facilities are provided at every N&N property, but doing a wash every two or three days works better than trying to stretch a small bag of clothes across several weeks. If you’ve got specific dietary needs or routines, it’s worth doing one proper supermarket shop in the first day or two rather than relying on takeaways, since every kitchen is fully equipped for real cooking.
Set up your workspace early. Most of our properties have a desk or dedicated work area, and getting that sorted on day one — rather than working from a sofa for a week before switching — makes a genuine difference to how a long stay feels by week three or four.
Think about routine, not just logistics. Long stays go better when you build in something that isn’t just work and sleep — a regular walk, a local pub you adopt as your own, a gym if there’s one nearby. Several of our properties are close to green spaces like Bute Park or Ashton Court specifically because a change of scenery matters over a multi-week placement.
Talk to us about flexible terms early rather than assuming they’re not available. Weekly and monthly discounts, flexible check-in and check-out around shift patterns, and company billing are all things we can sort out in advance if you let us know what you need before you arrive.
If you’re planning a longer work stay, get in touch directly to discuss rates and terms, or browse our properties to find the right base for your placement.
